Vipul Shah is the Founding Partner of Grant Thornton Kenya. He started the firm as Vipul Shah & Co. in 1983. From humble beginnings, Vipul guided the firm through his vision and leadership and made it one of the largest professional service firms in the country.

Vipul is a Chairman and member of the board in many companies and plays an active role in making strategic financial and investments decisions of complex nature for instance: setting up of new business units, business process structuring, re-structuring, mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, de-mergers, Insolvency and dissolution of companies, business networking and bringing a team of intellectuals together in a business model.

Vipul is a fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants and a member of the ACCA Advisory Committee in Kenya.

Davin Appanah

Davin is an experienced financial services professional with over 19 years of experience spanning capital markets, asset management, trading, research, banking, and data science. He currently serves as a Director at OptiFin Solutions, a niche finance and consulting firm in which he is part of the founding team in Mauritius.

He advises banks on Regulatory capital optimization, Debt structuring, IFRS standards implementation and more. He has also extensive experience in Front-Office Activities of Banks, financial engineering, valuation and derivatives (Interest Rate Derivatives mostly).

He worked mostly in Europe and the US as a Quant/Trader for Investment Banks, Financial Software Providers, Hedge Funds and was recently an Associate Director at Deloitte. Davin graduated in Mathematical Finance from Universite Paris Dauphine (PSL), Trading and Commodities Market from Paris ESLSCA and recently in Probability, Statistics & Data Science from the MIT(USA).

Yogesh has over 25 years of experience in financial management gained whilst working for:

  • AfrAsia Bank Limited as Senior Executive, Head of Global Business (Private and Corporate Clients)
  • Deutsche Bank (Mauritius), heading the fiduciary services division under Private Wealth Management
  • IFS Ltd (now Sanne Mauritius), a leading corporate services provider, overseeing a portfolio of >100 clients including mutual funds and PE funds
Yogesh has previously worked in Guernsey and Singapore. He sits on the Board of STEP Mauritius, which promotes private clients work and liaises with stakeholders on current issues and the implementation of fiduciary legislation.

Yogesh is a member of the following professional associations:
  • Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP)
  • International Tax Planning Association (ITPA)
  • Mauritius Institute of Directors (MIoD)
He also holds a Postgraduate Certificate in the Mechanics of Private Equity (Middlesex University) and is a Qualified Family Office Practitioner (QFOP – Investment Certification Institute).

Holder of a degree in Finance, Toshna Thajah has over six years of banking experience, acquired whilst working with AfrAsia Bank Limited mainly but, also for Standard Bank (Mauritius) Limited.
